How physically demanding is this safari?
Gorilla trekking can take anywhere from 1 to 5 hours round trip, depending on where the gorilla family is located that day. The terrain includes steep, muddy, and uneven volcanic slopes at altitudes above 2,500 meters, so a moderate level of fitness is recommended. Porters are available to help carry bags and offer a hand on steeper sections at additional fee of $15-$20.

What should I pack for safari?
Pack sturdy waterproof hiking boots, long trousers and long sleeved shirts, gardening gloves for gripping vegetation, a rain jacket, insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat, and a small daypack.
